How we got there

The Challenge

StateU's legacy LMS couldn't scale beyond 5,000 users, crashed during finals, lacked mobile support, and had poor video streaming. Faculty spent hours on manual grading. Accessibility was non-compliant. Growing online enrollment demanded modern, scalable platform.

Our Approach

Built platform (Next.js + Node.js + PostgreSQL) on AWS with auto-scaling. Video content delivered via Cloudflare Stream CDN. Interactive content used H5P for quizzes, simulations. Integration with campus SSO (SAML), SIS (Ellucian Banner), and Zoom. Mobile apps (React Native) for iOS/Android.

Video Delivery & Interactive Content

Video lectures uploaded to Cloudflare Stream, transcoded to multiple bitrates (360p-4K) with adaptive streaming. CDN delivered globally with <200ms latency. Interactive transcripts enabled keyword search within videos. H5P integration provided drag-drop activities, interactive simulations, branching scenarios. Assessment & Auto-Grading
